Thank You God for Another Year of Life! Monserrat Hernandez

I thank God that I'm granted another year to live beside my family and friends. So far the new year has been uneventful. Doctor appointments are the highlight of January, but I'm ever so thankful, and so is my family, that I am here! God bless everyone. Count your blessings every day.

About Me

Hello everyone my name is Monserrat Hernandez and I'm 7 years old. I currently live with my parents, my little brother and my little sister in San Diego. I am fighting for my life against this incurable condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 1 the most severe. I was diagnosed at an early age and due to my fragile state I lived around 4 years in a hospital. Since I don't know when my life will end, could be any minute or longer, I want to document my remaining time and make my bucketlist come true before my time runs out. I am so much happier now that I live at home.

My Bucket List

1. I ask for your Support to continue to find a cure for SMA.

2. I wish to have an I pad, it has been my wish since last year.

3. Collect angel figurines of plastic,ceramic, porcelain,wood,etc. Would you help me complete my collection.

4. Would love to visit Disneyland but I need a nurse, a respiratory therapist, and a medic with experience with SMA and Ventilator. I would love to meet the princess that I only know through books and T.V.

5. i wish for my own large bathroom where I can enter in my wheelchair and take a bath like any other person. (my bathroom is too small and does not fit)

6. I wish to experience a Jacuzzi. It would have to be cleaned and conditioned for my delicate state of health.

7. Can someone help me contact Ellen Degeneres?

8. My computer is broken and I am not financially able to replace it. I wish for a computer.

9. I wish for a T.V. network to make a report on my condition of SMA, how I live with this illness, so that people can be conscious about this medical condition and support me, as well as others who suffer from SMA.

10. I wish to find a professional painter who will donate their time to paint angels on my bedroom walls.

11. I would like to meet my favorite singers which are Adrian Romero and Manuel Bonilla. They sing Christian music.

12. I wish to have a wooden door for my room that opens frm the top half so that my sister who has autism won't come in and touch my medical equipment.

These are a few of my wishes.
